President and CEO
Mary Williams is President and CEO of MTEQ. She has expertise in engineering, remote sensing, and prototype-manufacturing. Mary is a-respected hyperspectral expert, engineer, and technical leader within the Department of Defense (DoD) research and development community for applied sensor technologies. Mary has more than 20 years of management and leadership experience in technology-driven businesses.
She purchased and transformed MTEQ from a 12-employee into the 350+ full-service solutions provider it is today. Mary holds a Master of Electrical Engineering degree from Virginia Polytechnic and State University, and Bachelor of Science degrees in both Computer Science and Math from James Madison University. Mary has taken advanced studies in Imagery Science at Rochester Institute of Technology.
Senior Board Executive
Major General (Ret.) Gerard Brohm serves on the Board of Advisors for MTEQ. General Brohm retired from the United States Army after more than 32 years in active duty. In his last assignment, General Brohm served as the Commanding General of the Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. There, he led the Army’s center for the development and support of all communications, command and control, automation, intelligence, electronic warfare and sensor systems used by the U.S. Army and international customers.
After retiring from the U.S. Army, General Brohm served as the Chief Operating Officer for Information Network Systems (INS), a member of The Sytex Group, Inc (TSGI). He was later promoted to President of INS and Senior Vice President of TSGI which eventually grew and sold to Lockheed Martin. He then worked for Lockheed Martin as a Vice President responsible for Lockheed’s Army and Navy professional services operating unit. After retiring from Lockheed, Gen. Brohm established a private consulting firm which he now runs.
His education includes a Bachelor of Arts from Seton Hall University, a Master of Science from the University of Colorado, and an executive military education from the US Army War College.
Senior Vice President
Greg Williams is an original principal of MTEQ and has more than 20 years’ experience in management and leadership roles. Greg is Senior Vice President and on the Board of Directors of MTEQ. In these roles, he is responsible for establishing and executing MTEQ's strategic and annual operating plans.
He has held several executive and board level positions in companies supporting technical solutions for DoD and commercial customers. Greg began his career as a CPA in Public Accounting and a US Army Officer in the Corps of Engineers. He holds a Bachelor and Master degrees from James Madison University.
Vice President, C5ISR Products & Systems
George Ax is Vice President of Programs and Engineering at MTEQ. He manages a portfolio of system and technology development programs encompassing electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) sensors and exploitation systems. George shares responsibility for development and execution of the company technology strategy and fostering of core competencies that provide sustainable competitive advantages in the aerospace and defense market for our EO/IR systems.
George joined MTEQ after a 25-year career at an aerospace company, where he ran an EO/IR system and technology R&D and engineering center. His responsibilities included management of profit, revenue, and business acquisition; contract execution; internally funded technology and systems development projects; and site management of a laboratory and office complex. He was selected three times to the honorarium position as a Technical Fellow, allowing him to participate in company-wide technology and strategy leadership forums.
George holds a bachelor’s degree and completed graduate courses in Electrical Engineering at the University of Virginia. He has completed extensive management, program management, and leadership training, and holds one patent.
Vice President, Integrated Sensing Solutions
Aydin Mohtashamian serves as Vice President of Services and Rapid Development, heading the division providing on-site operational services as well as complex C4ISR R&D support. He helps identify and calculate emerging technologies and rapidly developing solutions for our customers.
Before joining MTEQ, Aydin spent 10 years in a variety of engineering, engineering management, and program management roles at L3. His most recent position was as Director of Program Management at L3 Maritime Systems, where he led several Navy C4ISR, ship automation/integration projects, and the development and installation of the first Hybrid Electric Drive on a Navy Destroyer. Aydin joined L3 after an 8-year career as an Army Officer, having served two tours in Iraq, where he spearheaded and managed logistical support for the first free elections.
Aydin is a West Point graduate with an MBA and an MS in Systems Engineering, and a superior record of delivering mission-critical projects on time and within budget.
Vice President of Business Systems
Clara Schuster serves as the Vice President of Business Services. She has managed the accounting, contracts, procurement, human resource and security functions for MTEQ as the company has grown in supporting its customers’ important mission requirements under key contract vehicles such as US Army’s Quick Reaction Engineering for Warfighter Sensing (QREWS) $270M, Warrior Enabling Broad Sensor Services (WEBS) $1.7B and NSWC Dahlgren’s Battle Management System (BMS). She led MTEQ in obtaining its major business systems (accounting, procurement and property). She is a highly specialized contracts, pricing and cost-accounting professional with deep experience managing complex federal and DoD services and supplies contracts across all cost types.
Clara prides herself on building a team of agile and proactive professionals that support our clients’ missions and in consistently obtaining high ratings on annual CPARS. She holds a JD from Duquesne University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.
Vice President Business Development & Strategic Initiatives
Charles (Chuck) Shaw serves as Vice President of Business Development & Strategic Initiatives. He is responsible for the growth and strategic direction of the company.
Prior to joining MTEQ, Chuck served as Executive Director of Defense & Intelligence Programs, Government Business Development for SRI International and Executive Director of Strategic and Business Development for Ravenswood Solutions. Before SRI, Chuck held various executive leadership roles, including work at Lockheed Martin overseeing the support to more than 70 Naval and Maritime programs worldwide. Chuck spent over 20 years serving as an Army Officer, with numerous deployments worldwide, including and Operations Desert Shield/ Storm (ODS).
Chuck is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy (USMA) with a B.S. in Mechanical/ Systems Engineering and the U.S. NPS with a M.S. in Operations Analysis. He is also a Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) and member of the Society of Logistics Engineers (SOLE) as well as numerous other professional organizations.
